Ending Well Together

Thank you to all who presented, joined panels, led sessions and attended the conference!

The planning committee invites in-person and virtual attendees to join the conference sessions in celebration of our accomplishments and efforts to advance the goals of the Diversity Program Consortium (DPC)!

Over nearly a decade, the DPC has gathered evidence on effective approaches to impact biomedical workforce participation by: 1) developing, implementing, assessing and disseminating innovations to engage, mentor and train students; 2) enhancing faculty development; and 3) bolstering institutional capacity to train researchers.

This year’s conference is centered on four components: deliverables, sustainability, dissemination and next steps. All attendees can join the NIH and all NIH DPC initiatives for the opening and closing and three panel sessions. The in-person schedule includes one round of concurrent breakout sessions on topics that examine the evidence collected, highlight ongoing and spillover impacts, and summarize accomplishments, challenges and possible next steps. Plan to engage with colleagues by reviewing awardee posters or using the unstructured breaks to discuss collaborations or innovations. Virtual attendees can review the program for guidance in participating and visit the conference materials folder for concurrent session materials.

We invite you to look back in celebration of all that has been accomplished while gleaning insights, exploring collaborations and identifying strategies to move the effort of the DPC forward!

Covid Precautions

We are glad to be able to host an in-person conference this year. Neither UCLA nor the Luskin Conference Center require masks. However, we will supply hand sanitizer and have masks available for those who wish to wear them.

We recommend testing before coming. Consider masking indoors for those who may have compromised immune systems.

If you test positive, have a fever or are feeling ill, do not attend in person. The virtual option is available for panels and opening and closing sessions. Any DPC members or partners are welcome to join.
